Recover More From the Wells You Already Have
Ultra-MEOR® is a modern microbial enhanced oil recovery technology designed to help operators economically recover more of the oil remaining in mature conventional wells using existing infrastructure and without requiring major capital modifications.
Mature Doesn't Mean Depleted
Mature oil wells can hit their economic limit long before the oil runs out. Declining rates, rising water cut, paraffin buildup, and climbing lifting costs push wells toward shut-in, while meaningful oil remains connected in the reservoir. Ultra-MEOR targets that remaining value, using enhanced oil recovery methods built for the wells you’re already operating.
A Different Approach to Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery
Ultra-MEOR combines a preselected natural microbial consortium with purpose-built support and activation components, delivered through a controlled well stimulation and field protocol that requires no major infrastructure changes.
Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is a general category of stimulation approaches, and they are not created equal. Some MEOR programs simply add nutrients to attempt to improve indigenous microbial functions in the well. Others will try to cultivate the indigenous biology and grow the population external to the well before re-injecting the same biology into the system. These traditional MEOR programs gave mixed results for many reasons.
What makes Ultra-MEOR different altogether is that our program is built on supplementing the existing downhole biology with more readily reproducible, which are naturally occurring and non-pathogenic, and cultivated to supercharge the natural processes in the well.
We combine these organisms with components to support their growth and hardiness, and have a validated, integrated system protocol for choosing the right well and applying the technology properly and carefully.
How Ultra-MEOR Works
INTRODUCE
Ultra-MEOR through existing wellhead and surface equipment.
ESTABLISH
The microbial consortium establishes activity within reservoir conditions
MOBILIZE
Biological metabolites influence oil-water behavior and mobilize oil
PRODUCE
Oil becomes mobile and reconnects with producing flow paths.
The treatment uses the well’s existing equipment. In the case studies presented, nothing on the well, its pump, or the surface facilities had to be changed.
Field-Proven Enhanced Oil Recovery Results
2026 North African Field Validation
Illustrative 90-day economics. The well produced approximately 12,018 extra barrels of oil over 90 days, worth about $901,350 at $75 per barrel, roughly 18 times an illustrative $50,000 treatment cost. These figures are illustrative and not a guarantee.
Earlier field programs. Programs using the same technology lineage in Mexico, Trinidad, and the United States add evidence from many wells and fields. In a 20-well program for PEMEX, Mexico’s national oil company, 15 wells produced more oil. These are historical records, presented separately on the Case Studies page.
A Staged Path From Evaluation to Scale
The best first candidate is an older conventional oil well in sound mechanical condition that still has oil the well can reach.
1
Screen candidates
Review the well’s history and condition.
2
Set a reliable baseline
Measure normal production first, so results can be compared fairly.
3
Treat representative wells
Apply the treatment through existing well equipment.
4
Monitor oil and water
Track oil, water, and downtime.
5
Expand on results
Scale up once targets are met.
